Commercial/Industrial Sewing Machinist

Northern Diver (International) Ltd have been in business for over 40 years, we have created an innovative and highly regarded product range within the recreational, Commercial, Offshore, Water Rescue and Military diving sectors. We have won a large contract and as such we need to expand our manufacturing facility in Appley Bridge. 

We are looking for a Commercial / Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our growing team. We specialise in high quality Diving Equipment and Suits. The ideal candidate will have both the experience and enthusiasm to work in the factory. FULL TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN on suit manufacture and on specialist manufacturing equipment.

· Competitive basic salary £25k+ per annum

· Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

· Holidays - 23 days + Bank Holidays 

Key responsibilities would include:

  • Sewing together tri-laminate drysuits
  • Application of zips
  • Maintaining a steady production process
  • Working as part of a team to ensure deliveries are met on time
  • Quality Control checks
  • Maintaining workshop in a tidy and safe condition
  • Helping in the alterations/repairs department
  • Carrying out any other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisory Technician 

The ideal candidate:

  • 5 Years + of experience in an industrial sewing environment
  • Good attention to detail
  • Can work under pressure
  • Be hard working
  • Be a good team player Be able to work on own initiative and prioritise work
