Kayakers, rowers, sailors and divers are carrying folding rescue knives in ever increasing numbers. This is so they can self-rescue or help disentangle someone else from a jumble of rigging lines, fishing lines or discarded ropes. Having this ability, just by simply carrying a light-weight tough rescue knife can be a great help, when entanglements happen. Whether a clean speedy cut is needed specifically for a rope or line, or just to get you out of a jam, it'll make you feel safer on your dives and emergency water ops.

A compact, feature filled knife.

The knife is made from 316 stainless steel. This means the stainless steel make up contains: 16% chromium, 10% nickel and 2% molybdenum; to help resist corrosion from sea water and de-icing salts (all chloride materials in fact). This rust resistant stainless steel blade locks in position when opened to avoid accidental blade closure that can often result in injury. The thumb hole next to the fold pivot means that safely opening the folding knife is effortless. With its serrated blade of short sharp teeth, cutting is quick and easy. The rope / webbing / line cutter provides purchase which allows you to keep the line in place while the blade administers a swifter, cleaner cut because it's specially designed to cut through lines, webbing and rope. The folding knife's blade has a rounded blunt end that's designed to help avoid accidental drysuit punctures and other accidents. 

The 3.5inch blade snuggly and safely sits in the ABS and PU coated handle. The folding knife is just 8.25inch at full length when the blade is exposed. At only 5inchs long when closed, it'll fit easily into most pockets. The ergonomically designed, curved handle is contoured to fit well in the hand. ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is combination of plastics that results in a rubbery impervious surface which is tough even at low temperatures. This makes our Northern Diver folding knives a great option whether you need it in cold or warm, fresh or sea water. PU (polyurethane) creates a protective film on the handle, which is in essence a waterproofing treatment. The PU coating also enables the handle to be more resistant to abrasions, kinks and tears and make it more robust overall. Available with a black or yellow handle.

The Northern Diver Rescue Folding Knife conforms to the health and safety requirements stated in Annex II of the PPE Directive 89/686/EEC. To ensure the longevity of your folding rescue knife, we suggest you rinse it in fresh water after it's been used in salt water.

When you go to the online checkout, you can opt to collect your items in store. We'll let you know when your order is ready for you to collect. Your order will normally be ready to collect the next working day.

Returns, refunds or exchanges?

You can return any item within 28 days of receipt for a refund, provided the item is unused, in its original packaging and in 'as new' condition.

Items will be refunded in full (less postage) if received within 28 days from the date of despatch.

We aim to deal with all returns and exchanges on the day they arrive, however please allow longer during peak periods.

You can return the item(s) by dropping them off in store or by returning the item(s) by post. We do not insist on a specific courier service for the return, so please use the most economical or appropriate method for returning the item(s).
