The Northern Diver Weight and Trim has evolved over several years and is now the most comfortable and ergonomic it has ever been. It has a loyal following of divers who swear by it's ease of use and ability to trim the weight distribution around a diver's body. As our compass design for the harness states, we think it's the ultimate Buoyancy, Stability and Comfort System.
To ensure you're evenly distributing the weight and it's compfortable to wear, the Weight & Trim Harness has a hook and loop closing waistband also has an adjustable fix-lock buckle. Benefit from a more comfortable dive with better support from our Weight & Trim Harness through the adjustable padded shoulder straps. And the Weight and Trim harness includes 2 detachable thigh pockets with drains and leg straps.
Our quick release pockets have removable weight pockets inside so you can quickly and easily adjust the weight and weight pockets. They also have quick release buckles for added safety while on your dives. We've strengthened the quick release pockets through double stitching and adding bar-tacs. Each weight pocket is capable of holding up to 9kgs and their suitable for either lead block or lead shot, as are the hook and loop closing weight pockets.
Once in use, the weights are securely fastened but can be easily and independently jettisoned if required. The pockets can be used for carrying cargo.

What's different about version 2 of the Weight and Trim Harness?
The v2 and v1 are different in appearance. The v2 has our more modern branding style, and is a bright yellow coloured nylon waistband, instead of the orange colour of the v1.

The value and quality of the kit they sell is amazing. I just bought the weight and trim harness. A very well-made piece of kit at 1/2 the price of what the BCD trim pockets would have cost me. I used it yesterday for two dives and was very happy. It has details/features you would expect in a kit 3X the price. Thanks, Ndiver. Customer service is top-notch and have had returns and size issues resolved in record time.

Decent Harness But Needs Tweaking

Bought this harness to replace my old one. Upon first impressions, the harness is sturdy, well made, comfortable and can hold enough weight for me to be able to use my drysuit in the sea. The size can be altered to fit but if you're as skinny as I am, this will cause the material at the back of the harness to bunch up (I'd have done better with an XS but that size is not available). I cannot comment on how this affects comfort while diving as I have not yet been able to try it. One issue I've found was that the velcro in the pockets causes some difficulty when trying to remove the pockets for emergency weight removal. Neither myself, nor two other divers were able to get one pocket out as it simply would not budge. To counteract this, I've had to cover half of the velcro patches with a strip of fabric so that it is not as strong and the pockets can be removed in the event of an emergency. I suspect the velcro will lose it's strength over time, which will be more ideal.
Great for lots of weight

I'm new to dry-suit diving, and I have recently got myself into a Northern Diver DiveMaster Commercial dry suit. I have to wear about 12kg of weight to become neutrally buoyant (in the pool), and I used about 8kg on a belt, and 4 in my BCD, but it constantly felt like the belt was about to slip off, and my trim ended up absolutely terrible. It was in fact so horrible to dive like this, that I considered giving up on dry-suits and diving in the UK. However, I made a last-ditch attempt to make things better by using a weight harness instead, and it is fantastic. I have only used it for one pool session, but my trim was perfect in the water - it was so good that I forgot about the dry suit (which is exactly what it should be like). I wore the following (in pool water): - 4kg in each harness weight pocket - 1kg in each back trim pocket - 2kg in my BCD pockets (each) Total of 14kg of weight. I'm trying 12kg of weight next week. I use an XXL buddy commando BCD, which is quite buoyant as well, and a steel tank. I'm very happy with the harness - it makes dry suit diving possible for me.

Returns, refunds or exchanges?
You can return any item within 28 days of receipt for a refund, provided the item is unused, in its original packaging and in 'as new' condition.
Items will be refunded in full (less postage) if received within 28 days from the date of despatch.
